GameCube Delayed In US
Now Launching November 18, 2084

Sep/10/2001

Turn pictures on, you dolt!
Could be awhile before you
get your hands on this.
The launch of the Nintendo GameCube has been delayed until the year 2084, according to the Spaceworld Press Kit.

Originally planned for a November 5th 2001 launch, this new date places the GameCube release about 83 years after its original release date, as well as eight decades after the launch of Microsoft's Xbox, Xbox Second Edition, Xbox XP, Playstation 3 through 14 and Playstation Jaggieless Turbo eXtreme.

A Nintendo issued press release after this announcement confirmed that there would be at least 700,000 units in stores on launch day, with the possibility of a super intelligent robot serving behind the counter. "And with global warming melting the ice caps, people will more than likely have less distance to travel to the beach!", the press release continued.

Although Nintendo have decided to go with this - some might say - rather insane and completely incomprehensible launch date, the first party launch games have remained the same; Luigi's Mansion (renamed Luigi's Mansion 2084) and Wave Race: Blue Storm (renamed Wave Race: Getting To Work In 2084). Pikmin will follow a day later with a "Free Pikmin in every box" (depending on how the evolution of the Mexican Walking Fish is coming along at that time), with Smash Bros. Melee and Eternal Darkness (now a full historical drama) following in December of the same year.

Still no news if this will be affecting the Australian launch, but when I find out, you, the readers, will be the first to know.

-Blake
